Hair for the Holidays: Enjoy 10% Off at Parsa Mohebi Hair Restoration!
Patients looking to treat themselves this holiday season are in luck—Parsa Mohebi Hair Restoration is offering an incredible deal: 10% off of all FUE procedures scheduled by December 31! This limited-time offer is great for anyone interested in a thicker, fuller hairline—at a thinner price.
FUE—which stands for “Follicular Unit Extraction”—is an advanced type of hair restoration surgery that offers many advantages over traditional “strip” Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT). Unlike FUT, FUE does not leave a linear scar on the scalp, meaning patients will be able to wear their hair short without worrying about any unsightly scarring showing through. Additionally, FUE does not distort the growth angle of hair follicles, and is a less invasive procedure, so patients will need less time for recovery following the surgery. FUE creates a natural-looking hairline and attractive results.
To redeem this offer, mention it to our front desk staff when scheduling your appointment. This offer cannot be combined with other offers. This offer is valid until December 31, 2014. For more information about our holiday special or FUE itself, please call Parsa Mohebi Hair Restoration at 888-302-8747 or email us at info@ParsaMohebi.com.
Hair transplant cost for CTTA
Q:
Dear Doctor,
I am 14 years old and I have hair loss in form of CTTA and my parents agreed to let me get the hair transplant, but will it actually take months for my hair to grow and I need to know how much it cost for the operation please.
A:
Congenital Temporal Triangular Alopecia (CTTA) is a congenital condition that is noted by parents at birth or soon after that. CTTA could easily be treated with hair transplantation at any age. At Parsa Mohebi Hair Restoration, we charge patients with the number of grafts and since patients with CTTA only need a small number of grafts, the cost falls into our minimum charge category. Having said that you need to have a consultation with us so we can confirm the diagnosis and make sure you are a good candidate for a hair transplant surgery.
Transplanted hair will grow in 2 to 3 months after hair restoration surgery and will become even better than that for the following months after that. Since the location of the transplanted hair is only in the temple areas, it may not show as much since most people can easily comb their hair to cover the hair loss area.
Please feel free to call our office at 1 (888) 302-8747 and schedule your complementary consultation at one of our Southern California offices. If you are contacting from other states, you can send us an inquiry through our website and we contact you to complete your online consultation.
We look forward to seeing you soon.

Tax on Cosmetic Procedures
Recently, the Senate proposed a health legislation which includes a 5% tax on cosmetic procedures. The cosmetic surgeries include hair restoration procedures and many other surgeries for men and women.
The potential 5% tax on cosmetic surgeries is a no-win situation for American citizens and potential hair transplant patients. By levying a tax on cosmetic procedures throughout the United States, it may further cripple our stumbling economy and reduce the much-needed funding states receive from cosmetic surgeons in order to build, for example, a high-speed train in California, create more innovative after-school programs for teenagers, poverty intervention programs for inner-city residents, more efficient forms of public transportation (e.g. metro rails).
But, at the heart of the issue, I believe, is the obstruction of an American citizen’s right to the pursuit of happiness. Through an orthodontist, people have the right to get their teeth straightened out; by undergoing a vasectomy, a married couple no longer has to deal with an unwanted pregnancy; through the purchase of an electric hybrid Honda Civic, a motorist can fight sky-rocketing gas prices.
The government doesn’t tax citizens for making these types of decisions. People do them because they believe these things will improve their lives. But why impose a tax only on cosmetic surgeries? Where do we draw the line? Who can be the judge of whether a hair transplant is a luxury for a 25-year-old man who started to lose hair and looked less attractive, which led him to struggle with social anxiety and feel depressed a lot of the time?
I believe this young person ought to be given the same opportunities as the other non-bald peers in his life, especially when we are talking about dating, relationships, and employment prospects in this increasingly-competitive time. Who knows, if this legislation passes, maybe in the near future, people who wear contacts will be taxed an additional 5%.
At Parsa Mohebi Hair Restoration, we perform hair transplants for lots of patients who travel from other countries, such as Canada, Europe, and the Middle East. Many of these patients visit the United States because they want, for their cosmetic surgeries, to be exposed to the most modern techniques; but many of them may consider the cost of cosmetic procedures, too. Increasing costs for these surgeries may deprive us from a potential source of income and deprive them of potential patients.
Currently, some states impose a tax on cosmetic procedures. According to doctors who work in these states, the results haven’t been pretty. The plan has fallen 59% short of its projected revenue; it’s proven to be an administrative pain-in-the-behind, and it was forcing many prospective clients to obtain cosmetic surgery services in surrounding states, resulting in reduced tax revenue collected from plastic surgeons from cosmetic-tax-imposing states.
For myself, as the medical director of Parsa Mohebi Hair Restoration, I’m against this legislation for the simple fact that people ought to have the freedom to do what they think will make them happy–without imposing additional costs on them. Our motto at Parsa Mohebi Hair Restoration has always been: “quality hair transplants for everyone.” Some of my patients have told me that they have lost a lot of life opportunities because of their baldness. Why not allow these wonderful people to get back what they deserve: their hair.
Let’s be fair to all people. After all, we live in the land of liberty.

Follicular Unit Extraction – FUE
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) – Advantages or disadvantages
My patients always ask about advantages and disadvantages of Follicular Unit Extraction so I thought this topic makes a good post for the blog. Before going over these points I have to say, although we at Parsa Mohebi Hair Restoration offer the most advanced techniques of FUE nationwide, most of our patients are still being transplanted by strip technique and I don’t recommend FUE to everyone and select my FUE patients very meticulously. Here are the main reasons why we do recommend FUE to some people and not to everyone.
Advantages
- FUE does not leave a linear scar, which is great for those who want to wear their hair very short on the back or the ones who may need to shave their head in the future (like actors).
- FUE has a more comfortable healing process with decreased healing time.
- No restrictions in physical activities for those who want to do strenuous exercise right after FUE procedure.
- FUE is a viable alternative for those who have tight scalp that makes strip surgery risky or impossible.
- Follicular unit extraction makes it possible to harvest hair from body, beard or almost everywhere else.
- FUE is very useful when we need limited number of grafts like for restoration of eyebrow hair.
Disadvantages
- The biggest disadvantage of follicular unit extraction is that the maximum follicular unit graft yield is lower than when it is done with strip technique due to higher rate of follicular transection compared to the strip technique.
- Although linear scar is not present after FUE, small punctuate scars will be there that may make future FUE hair transplant surgeries more difficult or impossible.
- Not everyone is a candidate for FUE and patients need to be tested with FOX before proceeding with the surgery.
- FUE procedure takes much longer to perform compared with strip FUT procedure.
- FUE is more laborious thus it cost more compared with strip technique hair transplants.
- In FUE, we have more chance of burying grafts that increases the risk of having folliculitis (tiny inflamed cysts under the skin) on the donor area.

The good news is that today, most hair transplant surgeons offer free initial consultation. It is important to take advantage of this situation and shop around. It is your look and your desire to live with it for the rest of your life after all.It is not enough to visit several hair transplant doctors; you also need to educate yourself on hair transplantation process, surgical techniques and hair transplant surgeon’s background before visiting the doctor. This way, you can appreciate a good technique and knowledgeable doctor when you see one while you can find the most affordable hair transplant. We offer state-of-the-art hair transplant surgery with exclusive follicular unit transplants (FUT), mega sessions for people with extensive hair loss and follicular unit extractions (FUE) or noninvasive hair transplants that does not leave an scar in the donor area.
Los Angeles is Hollywood and in Hollywood “appearance” is everything. Modern hair transplant surgery with undetectable results has become a demanding field in Southern California in last few years both because of the number of people looking for hair restoration surgery and the ones looking for the best hair transplant surgeon in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills and Southern California over all. Many people travel the world to get their hair transplant surgery done in Los Angeles or Beverly Hills. Los Angeles is and will probably always be the Mecca of hair transplant surgery for people who cannot accept anything but the best.
